Battle Ludo: Ludo with gunsRoll the dice. Win the shootout.
Battle Ludo keeps the board you know and changes one moment: the capture. In Ludo Fighters every piece is a cartoon soldier, and landing on an enemy starts a short gun fight that sends the loser back to base.

What is battle Ludo?
A board game first. A shootout second.
People search for a Ludo shooting game and expect one of two things: an action game with a board painted on it, or Ludo with a bit more bite. Ludo Fighters is the second. You still roll, choose a soldier and race four pieces home. The guns only come out when the dice say so.
| Classic Ludo | Battle Ludo (Ludo Fighters) | Shooter games | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you control | Which piece moves | Which soldier moves | Aim, movement, trigger |
| What decides a capture | Exact dice landing | Exact dice landing | Reflexes and aim |
| What a capture looks like | A piece slides off | A cartoon gun fight: pistol, rifle, shotgun, sniper or grenade | Realistic combat |
| Pace | Turn by turn | Turn by turn, fights in about 1.3 s | Real time |
| Safe places | Safe squares (house rules vary) | 8 shielded squares, shots ricochet | Cover, if you find it |
| Who can play | The whole family | The whole family, 1 to 6 players, on one phone or online | Usually older players |
Because the rules underneath are standard, anyone who knows Ludo can sit down and play. If you need a refresher, the complete Ludo rules cover the classic game and mark every place Ludo Fighters differs.
Ludo with guns, in practice
One capture, five beats
Here is what replaces the quiet click of a classic capture. The whole thing is over in about 1.3 seconds.
- 010.0 s
The roll lands
Your die shows the exact distance to an enemy soldier on an open square. That is the only thing that starts a fight.
- 02march
Halt one square short
Your soldier marches up and stops a square early, face to face with the target. No sliding into the enemy like a classic capture.
- 03open fire
Open fire
Weapons up. Each fight picks a weapon: pistol, rifle burst or shotgun, a single sniper crack (more likely across a long gap), or a grenade lobbed on an arc.
- 04knock-out
Down and gone
The enemy gets X eyes, topples over and disappears in a puff of smoke. Cartoon, quick, no blood.
- 05~1.3 s
Respawn, step in
The beaten soldier reappears in his own base. Yours steps onto the square he took. Then the turn carries on.
Cover fire
Shields change how you move
A Ludo shooting game needs somewhere to hide. In Ludo Fighters that is the eight safe squares: the four coloured start squares and the four stars.
Fire at a soldier on a star and the bullet bounces off a blue dome with a ricochet. Nobody falls, and both soldiers share the square until one of them moves on.
Battle tactics
Hunt the runner
Knocking out a soldier who is almost home costs his squad a full lap. Lumi AI's Aggressor loves exactly that target, and so should you.
Count to six
Any enemy one to six squares behind you can roll into a fight next turn. Parking just out of reach is half of battle Ludo.
Rest under a shield
Stars and start squares turn shots into ricochets. Stopping on one is the only true cover on the board.
Fight for a second roll
Winning a gun fight earns an extra turn by default, so one good shot can set up the next.
Want to test these against a patient opponent? Lumi AI as Guardian or Strategist watches its own back, so careless parking gets punished.
The army
Six squads, four battlefields
Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Purple and Orange field one to six soldiers each, with helmets, vests and rifles in squad colours. They walk square to square, call out the action and react when danger is close.
- RedAt ease
- GreenTaking aim
- YellowKnocked out
- BlueHome, gold star
The fights happen on four board skins: Jungle, Desert, Snowfield and Night Ops, where the tiles go dark and the home lanes glow. A skin changes the look, never the rules.

It sounds like a battle
A battle Ludo game lives or dies on its sound. Ludo Fighters uses real recordings: the rifle reload, gunfire, a ricochet off a shield, the body fall and a respawn teleport, footsteps that match each map and its own ambience, alongside the dice rattle. A battle march made in-house plays in the menus, with a fight sting, a victory fanfare and a defeat sting.
Squad voice callouts such as “Enemy spotted!” and “Enemy down!” play with a speech bubble over the soldier who says them: 39 recorded lines across 16 moments.
Guns, but family friendly
- Cartoon soldiers with big helmets and round faces
- Knocked out with X eyes, then a puff of smoke and a respawn
- Music, game sounds, squad voice and vibration each switch off
- Reduce motion skips the fights altogether
- No blood, no gore, nobody is hurt for good
Planned, not in the game yet
More firepower on the roadmap
These ideas would make battle Ludo even more tactical. None of them are in the game yet, there are no dates, and the details may change after play-testing.
- Planned
Medkit square
Pick one up and your soldier survives one hit.
- Planned
Landmine square
A square that punishes whoever stops on it.
- Planned
Airstrike card
Hit an enemy up to three squares away.
- Planned
Shield pickup
Carry your own cover off the safe stars.
- Planned
Killcam replay
Watch your best fight again and share it.
A 2v2 team mode and ranked leagues are planned too. Today you can play Lumi AI solo, pass one phone around, or meet other players in Online squads. How to play Ludo offline explains the first two.
